Important legal documents and policies for Parkd users and customers.
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 11th, 2025
Introduction
At Parkd, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information in compliance with applicable data privacy laws. This Privacy Policy explains the types of personal data we collect when you use Parkd (including our website, mobile app, or related services), how we use and safeguard that data, and the choices you have regarding its use.
Information We Collect
When you interact with Parkd—by registering for an account, scanning license plates, making payments, or using our app—we collect personal information that may include your name, email address, vehicle license plate number, payment-related identifiers (e.g., billing email or masked payment token), IP address, and device identifiers. We also gather usage information such as app activity, scan timestamps, and error logs to help us improve our service.
How We Use Your Information
Parkd uses your information for essential purposes: to operate and provide our services (e.g., validating parking permits, processing payments, enabling enforcement features for schools, universities, or municipalities), to support and communicate with you (e.g., customer support, notifications), and to analyze and optimize service performance. We also use aggregated and anonymized data to improve our platform and features.
Data Retention
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, including legal obligations, dispute resolution, or enforcement of agreements. License plate data, for instance, may be retained for a specified period (e.g., 30 days) unless otherwise required or permitted by law.
Sharing With Third Parties
Parkd may share your personal data with service providers—such as payment processors (Stripe), hosting providers, analytics services, and other vendors—only as needed to operate our platform. We also share data with our municipal or institutional partners (e.g., universities or city enforcement teams) to facilitate permit validation or enforcement actions. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
Protection of Personal Data
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security audits to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. When significant changes occur, we will revise the "Effective Date" and notify you through the app or via email if you have an account. Continued use of Parkd after those changes will constitute acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: August 11th, 2025
1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for or using Parkd's services—including our website, mobile app, or MyParkd platform—you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions, including any updates or additional terms that may apply to specific features or integrations. This agreement governs your relationship with Parkd and excludes any terms that you may have added on your own unless expressly agreed by Parkd in writing.
2. Eligibility and Account Setup
You must be at least 18 years old to use Parkd. By creating an account, you confirm you are legally authorized to enter this agreement and will keep your registration details—such as name, contact, and vehicle information—accurate and current.
3. Use of the Service
Parkd provides technology to facilitate mobile parking, permit validation, and integration with institutional systems (e.g., universities, municipalities). You agree to comply with all applicable local parking regulations, traffic laws, and signage—Parkd does not override those rules.
You acknowledge that your parking sessions are your responsibility. Features like "manual," "semi‑automatic," or "automatic" parking are subject to proper activation and deactivation, and Parkd may notify you if systems fail—but the onus remains yours to ensure sessions are handled correctly.
4. License and Intellectual Property
Parkd grants you a non‑exclusive, non-sublicensable, revocable right to use the app in connection with these Terms. All intellectual property—software, branding, content, data—remains Parkd's exclusive property. You are prohibited from reverse-engineering, modifying, redistributing, or exploiting the app beyond this agreement.
5. Third-Party Integrations
Parkd integrates with partners (e.g., Stripe, institutional systems, payment gateways). Each third-party's terms and conditions may apply separately. Parkd is not responsible for those services and does not control their policies or operations.
6. Liability and Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is," without guarantees of availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. You use it at your own risk. Parkd is not liable for losses arising from app malfunctions, misuse, or external changes (e.g., parking rate shifts, regulation changes), except for direct damages due to Parkd's gross negligence or willful misconduct. In such limited cases, liability is capped at the insurance payout amount.
7. Force Majeure
Parkd may suspend or terminate services without liability in the event of circumstances beyond its control—such as internet outages, power failures, cyber‑attacks, or legal restrictions.
8. Termination
You may cease using the app at any time. Parkd reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access immediately—without notice—if you violate these Terms, commit fraud, or misuse the service.
9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by Belgian law. Any disputes related to use of the app or these Terms will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Antwerp District Courts.
10. Changes to Terms
Parkd may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated appropriately—via email or app notifications—and will take effect upon posting. Continued use after updates implies acceptance.
